There's nothing I hate more than being stereotyped. Many people will remember the oral presentation I did at school which addressed this particular pet hate of mine. There's yet another aspect to being stereotyped that really gets under my skin. The fact I'm female tends to give off the impression that the first thing I'm after is a man's money.
I was just doing some casual "light reading" out of sheer boredom tonight and I came across something that instantly put me in a mood equivalent to that of a raging bull being stung by a scorpion and eaten alive by ants simultaneously.
Taken from a website all about the Top Gear host, Jeremy Clarkson:
On the surface, Clarkson has everything women desire: He's a powerful celebrity, he's outrageously wealthy, and he has a cool ride.
Who are these women that this website refers to? They are clearly saying that what all women want in a man is power, fame, and wealth. Never mind if they are witty, outspoken and clearly very intelligent. Forget all that! Dig your claws in and get as much of their stuff as you can! Fuck I hate that. Most girls will say that personality comes first in a relationship or any attraction but there are few, admittedly, that will stand by their declarations if the times take a turn for the worse.
Please enlighten me guys, do you really think that all women are like that? Sadly, I believe that the majority of women are like that whether they will admit it or not. I think the stigma of todays society is that if you aren't well off, wealthy or rich beyond your wildest dreams, then you aren't truly living a life worth living. And if this is you - it makes you feel as though your life is pathetic. This is all a crock of shit. How do the traditional marriage vows go - for better or for worse, in sickness and in health? Do we not stand by these any more, or are we so demoralised that the only way we relate to one another is in dollars and cents?
The point is taken. The rant has ended - but where does this leave my original gripe? Open your eyes! Wake up and realise that not all people are the same - cliched I know - but truthful nonetheless. Personally, I could not care less if you have been unemployed for seven years, or if you recently were promoted to the head of your business - if you're an arsehole, all the money in the world won't change that. If your face and body looks as though it has been carved by God himself, and you are an egotistical wanker - you still have no chance with anyone like me.
I'm tired. I'm off to bed. End of story. To pissed off to bother with a proper conclusion.
